Dear Cpl. Thornhill,
I deeply regret to hear the sad news of your husband reported as missing. I know that these words are of but little help, but we on the ground do appreciate the work our comrades are doing in the air, and I am sure that this is the sentiment of the whole of this Station.
May God comfort you in these most anxious times and we sincerely hope and pray that he is alright, and at some future date you may have the joyful news that he is a prisoner.
Meantime remember “While there’s life there’s hope” also “While there’s hope there is life”.
