My Darling Kay,

Your letter written at the R.O.F. on Saturday arrived yesterday. Sorry to read that find things so boring, & do wish I was there to meet you out, as you put it.

The 'Skipper' is progressing favourably, & looks as though he should be out by the end of this week, in any case Ian & myself are going over this afternoon to see how he is progressing.

We have just had a new arrival who knows Reg Randall & Co. including Frida, his name is F/Lt Pullen, he seemed to know I new [sic] them so probably they told him I was here.

I can get both I think, a fowl & a duck, nice work, the only

thing is providing I can advise them soon enough to enable them to dress them propably [sic].

Afraid the coupons is [sic] a wee bit hazy, Mal’s away at the present, but possibly you can spend some "pro tempo"

Have you seen anything of John Clark regarding that watch I left with him for repair.

I like to hear how [indecipherable name] is getting on, you described his antics very well indeed. I should love him kicking around here.

If you ever go near Nicholson [indecipherable name] & maybe see Roy, could you ask him how much he wants for that motor cycle of his, the Engineer Officer is after one, I've heard of one near Horncastle but am afraid it's too much

I took the skipper some of my 'after shave' lotion over on Sunday, he was as pleased as punch, all he wants now is some foam bath solution. Maybe my chemist pal will be able to do something.

Afraid Darling my bit of news is being exhausted, the old [indecipherable word]: is still hanging fire, the papers were returned apparently because the M/O hadn't signed that I was fit etc; that has been rectified & away they've gone again, further waiting. What a bind.

When the event arrives, I must buy you a present, what would you like pippin? I should start thinking, but please let me down lightly, I've just had my monthly returns.

still deducting present & past tax, so I have written to Tommy Taft, I've only been getting just short of £3 per fortnight, hopeless isn't it?

Ian still hasn't coughed up? Bad show, I could really do with it.

That bill from Bentins was OK, 25/= of it was for the rear light.

My [indecipherable word] have got awfully sore lately, must get some peroxide & gargle, simply darn't report sick since they make such a song & dance about it.

God bless my Darling be seeing you very soon

Yours always

Jim
