Madam,

With reference to this department’s letter of 9th June, 1941, I am directed to refer, with regret, to the notification that your husband is presumed to have lost his life, and to inform you that, in consequence, the temporary allowance in issue to you will cease with the payment due on 1st January, 1942.

I am to add that information as to the payment of any pension for which you may be eligible will be communicated to you by the Ministry of Pensions, Awards VI, Norcross, Blackpool, Lancs.

It should also be mentioned for your guidance that widow’s pension, if payable, is issued in arrear, whereas the temporary allowance you have been receiving has been issued monthly in advance.
