Ju 88 at Farnborough

Description

Two photographs. First is of a captured Ju-88 with RAF markings parked on an airfield. The view is taken from over the wing of a Stirling. From information kindly provided by the donor. 'Ju-88 at Farnboro - September 1943 - Photo taken from within Stirling BK784. From 24'th to 29'th September BK784 and Appleby crew flew test flights from Farnboro with the Ju88 that defected to Dyce Airport - Now in RAF Museum. See Log Book. Jock described Spitfires flying cover over the Ju-88 to prevent mistaken encounters'. 
The photograph is blurred, but shows a pair of wheeled airfield control caravans to the right of the Ju 88. Several parked aircraft, hangars and two chimneys can be seen in the background.
The second colour photograph is of Samuel Guyan standing underneath a Ju-88 in a hangar. 'Samuel Guyan and Ju-88 at RAF Museum Hendon, Jock re-united with the Ju-88 that they flew tests against in 1943.' The Ju-88 R1 nightfighter is w/n 360043.
