Pilot Officer Harold Ernest Wakefield, RAFVR, No. 51 Squadron, who comes from Leicester, was born in 1923 in Derbyshire. He was educated at Wyggeston [sic] School. He enlisted for wireless operator in 1942, and was commissioned in 1944.
