Sir,

I am directed to forward for your retention photographs of the grave of your son, Sergeant G.C. Dennis.

I am to point out that his initials have been omitted and the date of death is incorrectly shown as 5/12/44 instead of 6/12/44, but to explain that under present conditions it may not be possible to have the inscription on the cross altered. A careful note, however, has been made of the correct particulars so that when the time comes to replace the cross with a permanent headstone they shall be correct in every respect.

I am, Sir,
Your obedient Servant,
[signature]

R.H. Dennis, Esq.,
59, Thrush Drive,
Bury,
Lancashire.
