[underlined] PART 2. [/underlined]
Dear Mum, Dad, Hazel & Norman,
I hope you have received PART 1 at the same time, as it contains the chief part of the news, etc. In case it hasn’t arrived, the chief subject matter was my concern for you on hearing of the raid on Hull.
So Norman hasn’t heard anything more about his new course of training yet? I expect he will be feeling browned-off by the waiting after having wasted so long already. Once he gets to an I.T.W., though he’ll have plenty to do. One interesting subject which he could practice while waiting is aircraft recognition. There is a very good book on the subject called “Aircraft Recognition” which is published every month. If Norman [underlined] ever [/underlined] comes out here he is certain of a very warm welcome by the people with whom I spend my week-ends.
From the letter I received from Dad, yesterday, it looks as though he is keeping his hand in at darts as also does Norman, from what your letter says, Mum. As I mentioned in a recent airgraph, I saw Fred Rolph a couple of weeks ago. He is on the corresponding course at Queenstown, you know. I hope to be seeing him again in 2 weeks time, but I’m afraid it won’t be at the Smyth’s. Cheerio, all, & God bless you,
All my love, Ron XXXXXX.
