Dear Mrs Layne
[underlined] Pilot officer W. Layne [/underlined]
We thank you for your letter of March 3rd and are glad to hear the good news of the birth or your son. We are sending a cable through the International Red Cross Commitee [sic] at Geneva giving this information to your husband and saying that you are both doing well. We are afraid that this cable will take some time in transit and it is quite possible that if you write yourself using an Air-mail Letter card the news will reach him as quickly as by cable.
We hope that you and your son will continue to progress well and it will not be too long before you hear from your husband telling you he has received your news.
Yours sincerely

Director.
