Madam,
In reply to your letter of the 6th instant, I am directed to inform you that the ante-natal allowance to which you refer is applicable only to the wives of non-commissioned ranks. With effect from the date of birth of your child however, the married allowance of 4s. 0d. a day issuable to your husband as an officer will be increased to 7s. 0d. a day upon submission of the birth certificate to the Senior Accounts Depot, R.A.F. Station, Uxbridge, Middlesex.
It is requested that you will inform this Department whether in the light of the above information, you wish authority to be sought for payment direct to you of part of your husband's R.A.F. emoluments until his personal arrangements are completed.
If you do not wish such authority to be sought in your case, the order book now in your possession should be returned to this Department after encashment of the order due on 9th December, 1943.
