Dear Mrs. Wareing,
In the absence of Group Captain Gardener I opened your letter and on behalf of your husband’s many friends at this Unit I hasten to express our delight at the news that he is a prisoner. In view of the rapid advance of the British forces in this area I am sure this will only be for a very short duration and you will soon have him back again.
If you have any other news please let us know as we are most anxious to drop Bob a line if we have any address to which we can send a letter.
Kindest regards to you both.
Yours sincerely,
