THE ORDERS OF KNIGHTHOOD,
ST JAMES’S PALACE, S.W.1.
27th February 1946.
Sir,
The King will hold an Investiture at Buckingham Palace, on Tuesday, the 12th March, 1946, at which your attendance is requested.
It is requested that you should be at the Palace not later than 10.15 o’clock a.m. (Doors open at 9.45 a.m.)
DRESS:- Service Dress; Morning Dress; Civil Defence Uniform or Dark Lounge Suit.
This letter should be produced by you on entering the Palace, as no further card of admission will be issued.
I am desired to inform you that you may be accompanied by two relations or friends to witness the Investiture, but I regret that owing to the limited accommodation available for spectators, it is not possible for this number to be increased. The spectators’ tickets may be obtained on application to this Office and I have to ask you, therefore, to complete the enclosed form and [underlined] return it to me immediately. [/underlined]
