Dear Spike.
Just a short note to let you know “the score”. I heard from a chap that you had arrived back in this country. I arrived back on Thursday and was admitted to the above address suffering from malnutrition according to the Doctor. Personally I feel in the best of health and am getting a bit impatient to get on leave

How do you feel yourself? none the worst for your sojourn in Germany I hope!
By the way did you get a letter from me via a chap by the name of Rowlings about last December?
I fully expected to see you in Stalag IVB last Jan about the time of the Russian advance, we were told that a 1000 odd R.A.F. were on the road and making for IVB, but they didn’t turn up. I expect to be in this place for a couple of weeks yet, then perhaps I can arrange to meet you in

London or some such place, and [deleted] I [/deleted] [inserted] we [/inserted] can fill in the gaps that have appeared since we last met eighteen months ago.
Well Spike old Boy! I said this note was going to be short, I’ll save all the news until I see you
all the best.
Jim.
