NUMBER 34
Kriegsgefangenenlager
Datum: 11-12-42
Your letter of 27th Oct Safely here, also the first from your Mother dated 27th Sept. An xmas parcel has arrived from Sweden (Direcktor Hansson, A/B Karlstads Mekowska heirksta [deleted] n [/deleted] d, Karlstad) It doesn’t contain much but it is welcome. Hope the news of Eileen’s boy friend proves to be correct. You yourself, wrote in a foot note that Johnson & Halbert sent their best wishes & I was much puzzled as to who they were. Glad to hear that Frances has avoided measles so far. I’d love to see her. Everything as usual here – I have a streaming cold & can’t taste anything at all. All my love as usual, dearest Hope you are keeping well & cheerful, always yours John
