Dear Ursula,
We were very glad to hear from you the other day, and to know that you are all well.
I have just heard from Krakenberger to the effect that he has sent a Christmas parcel containing 5 English books and a table-tennis set to John, who I hope and trust will have received these gifts safely and in time for Christmas. Unfortunately, the choice of things which can be sent from Switzerland has recently been greatly restricted, so that the only things which are permitted for despatch are books, sports articles and musical instruments. Should you have any suggestions to make, seeing that you know John's likes and dislikes very much better than we do, I should certainly be
