Dear Mr Madgett,
Thank you for your letter and all it contained. While there is no definite news there is always a chance & I very much hope something good is heard soon.
I’d very much like to pop over and see you some time in the future, maybe on my next leave, and I’ll certainly give you a ring beforehand.
I’m afraid we aren’t on the phone here. The march of time doesn’t apply to Hornchurch.
