Dear Mr & Mrs Madgett,

Thank you for your last letter. This morning I received very sad news from the Red Cross. It is known now that my dear boy lost his life on Aug 18th and his dear body was laid to rest at Greifswald – Wiek about 16 miles west of Peenemunde Northern Germany with his companion Pilot Officer Bradley. I am wondering if you are in touch with

P/O Bradley’s relatives or if you have received any further news about your dear son. I trust you have had better news and that your son is safe somewhere.
Thank you very much for all the information you have given me.
Yours very sincerely
Miriam Norton
