From James and Helen Girdwood asking if they had heard any more news of Hedley who had been friends with their son Bill in Canada. Enclosed photograph of Bill. Addendum notes - 'Extract from Sidcup Times,21 June 1946 notice of pilot Jordan killed June 21/222 1943, buried in province of Venlo, Holland. 24 June 1946. Wrotes to Mr and Mrs Girdwood enclosing cutting. Amongst members of crew was that of F/O Girdwood'.

My Dear Mrs. & Mr. Madgett,
We had been wondering if you have had any more news of your dear boy Hedley. I often think ofg him.
Bill and him had such grand times together in Canada.
Well it is one year since our boy was killed we have never heard were [sic] he was buried or where his plane was brought down. I wish I knew.
I have enclosed a photo of Bill. I don’t think Hedley had this one. Hope Hedley is safe and well.

Sidcup Times 4/6/46 In memorium of Pilot Jordan, killed June 21/22 1943 and buried in Military Cemetery in the province of Limburg, Venlv,[?] Holland.
