Dear

May I send you my most sincere thanks for the very lovely diary which I have just received. It is a thing that I have always wished to have, but never succeeded in getting since the war.

Apart from its usefulness it will be a pleasant memory of the three years I spent flying Halifaxes

At the present I have a Lancaster Squadron and not the same opportunity of meeting you. None the less, I sincerely hope we will meet again before very long.
Yours

Wing Commander
Commanding,
[underlined] No 617 Squadron[/underlined]

Mr. H.G. Conway
Chief Engineer,
Messier Aircraft Equipment Ltd.,
Warrington.
