Description

The wooden bridge takes direct hits causing fires to start along the structure. Four further bombs are dropping through the smoke and an attacking aircraft is visible in the foreground to the left. On the horizon, a further twelve aircraft can be seen.

Label reads “200”; signed by the author; caption reads “28 DICEMBRE 1944. Bimotori anglo-americani battono il ponte di PIERIS d’ISONZO per impedire i rifornimenti, tedeschi al fronte italiano.”

Caption translates as: “28 December 1944. Anglo-American twin-engines aircraft hit the Pieris d’Isonzo bridge to cut German supply lines to the Italian front.”
