Dear Madam,
I have to inform you that an award as shown below has been made to you as the widow of Sergeant Andrew Bain RAF No. 658930
1. Weekly rate of pension £1 11s 3d
2. Weekly rate of allowance for child/children 9s 6d
3. No. of children 1
4. Award payable from 18 – 5 – 44
Adjustment may be necessary in respect of Separation Allowance if paid beyond the date shown in Column 4. An award in respect of a child is payable while the child is. under the age of 16 years and being maintained by you.
The above award is subject to the conditions of the Royal Warrant or corresponding Authority governing grants in respect of death by service in war. Adjustments may be necessary if pension or children's allowance has been awarded to you under the Widows', Orphans' and Old Age Contributory Pensions Acts, as such payment is not admissible together with an award of widow's pension or children's allowance by this Ministry.
Payment will be made weekly in advance through the Post Office.
The enclosed declaration should be completed and returned as soon as possible to the address shown thereon. Failure to return it promptly will result in payment being delayed.
A pension awarded to a widow ceases if she remarries. Information on other pension matters is given on the reverse of this letter·.
