Dear
Thank you very much for your letter of the 2nd July, and I am sorry I have no[sic] answered it before. You certainly have had the most appalling bad luck and I hope that this will be your final stay in hospital.
All the necessary forms and recommendations in respect of your Permanent Commission have been forwarded. I enclose a copy of a confidential letter from the A.O.C. To the Station Commander which more or less explains the present position. An A.M.O. confirming the terms of this letter has come out, but unfortunately I have not a copy available. As the A.O.C's letter is confidential, I must ask you to return it to me as soon as you have finished with it.
How long do you expect to be at Barts? Next time I am in London, I will try and call in and see you. Let me know if there is anything else you want.
All the best,
Yours
