Sir,
With reference to your letter of 11th December, I am directed to inform you that, in the event of your Distinguished Service Order and Bar not being recovered, you should inform the Secretary, Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood, St. James's Palace, S.W.1., of the circumstances of the loss and request that he will be good enough to furnish the necessary authority for you to purchase duplicates from Messrs. Garrard & Company, Ltd., 24 Albemarle Street, W.1.
I am to add that the dates of the awards should also be stated, which are as follows:-
D.S.O. 14th May, 1943
Bar to D.S.O. 17th July, 1945.
