Dear Daddy,
Thank you for the birthday presents.
The balloon is lovely. I haven't burst it yet.
I had a good birthday & have kept a piece of cake for you.
My great aunts gave me a very nice chair. I like sitting in it very much.
Aunt Pogga brough a dog
[page break]
she made. Everyone says it is really lovely and Cousin John made it a red lead.
I am keeping the balloon to play with when you come & please will you give me a ride on your back. Mummy does and she says you will too.
With love from
Frances.

P.S. I had lots of other presents I will show them to you next week.
