Dear David

Enclosed is wire from Ian accepting the onerous position of Godfather.
We are all very bucked about it. The Lady seems to be a fine specimen
We have not much news apart from Public Affairs.
Your Mother is working very hard doing all the washing up & cooking as well
[page break]
her own work. Still [inserted] she [/inserted] seems all right & recovered rapidly from her cold. She & I are scratching our heads as to when we can go & see the paragon of female beauty. We hope soon.
Best of luck old friend
