Monday. 16 Sept. 1945.
Dear Uncle Roy,
I am sure you will be surprised to receive this letter from England, I have managed after much difficulty to come over with Georgette.
I am not sure if you know that our dear son Pierre died at a camp from pneumonia end of February 1944 & we only had the terrible news end of July.
As we always had great hope that he would come through all the horrors of this ghastly war, it
[page break]
it [sic] is a terrible shock to all of us, & I just felt I could not face the winter unless I came over to England to be with all the dear ones here after 6 years of separation with such anxiety on both sides. George has been so depressed, but is gradually overcoming the loss but did not feel fit enough to come with me. We would be so happy to see you & Mary & the girls so if you have the possibility to come here please do so.
We shall be here until next Monday the 23rd
We all send you our dearest love to you all
Yours Affectionately
Sibyl.
