Dear Sir,
I am directed by the Air Ministry to thank you for your application to join the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.
In view of the nature of your occupation and experience it would not, in present circumstances, be in the national interest that you should enter into an obligation that would take you away from your occupation in the event of an emergency and it is, therefore, regretted that your offer of service cannot be accepted.
