I have to refer with regret to the fact that your husband has been officially promulgated as missing on the 15/16th March, 1944, and to advise you with regard to the family allowance and allotment of 54s.6d. a week at present in payment to you.
I am to state that the regulations permit of the continuance of payment at the present rate for seventeen weeks from the date the casualty was notified. If your husband is still missing at the end of this period of seventeen weeks the payment may continue for a further period of nine weeks, i.e. up to and including

order number 28 (due for payment on the 14th September, 1944, unless, in the meantime, a further promulgation is received regarding him, when you will be notified of any amendment which may, in consequence, be necessary.
Any continuing allowance which may be due to you subsequently will be at the rate of pension which would be payable if a fatal casualty had been reported and, in order that this may be determined, I am to request you to complete the enclosed forms at your early convenience and return it to this Department in the envelope provided.
