Thank you very much for your letter and kind invitation.

Unfortunately I am now in command of an operational Squadron, and it is impossible for me to make any arrangements that take me away from here, so please understand me when I say that if I could accept, I would do so with the greatest pleasure, but under the circumstances, I do not feel I am able to.
