My Dear Moll,
May I first thank you ever so much for the smokes and for the comb, do you know I never seemed to have a comb before but I can carry this one around in its case now. Well what sort of Christmas did you have?, pretty good I expect did you go out to tea with Geoffrey at all.?. I couldn’t

go to Retford as there wasn’t [sic] any buses on Xmas day. Peg. Sent me a parcel with a cake she made [underlined] herself [/underlined] and bags of other things, the old firm sent me a parcel too which was quite amazing. My navigator has just got himself engaged so we are hurrying him up to get “hitched” so we can have some leave, he’s a Canadian too. Im [sic] sorry this is rather short but Ive [sic] rather a lot to do but write soon and tell me what you did and had for Xmas. All my love Ken xxxxx
