Letter from Alan North to his parents
Title
Letter from Alan North to his parents
Description
Alan writes thanking his parents for their letters and papers. He asks for a copy of Leicester Illustrated Chronicle to be sent each week. He is about to get 14 days leave but is not sure where he will go because train fares are high. He writes about his first trip to the Rockies. He was short of money, as were a lot of the men. He reached Jasper by train and paid two boys as guides. They lent him a bike. The next day he rented a horse and went along some trails. He saw a lot of wildlife - elk, deer, coyote and bears.
He offers to bring back clothing and food.
He reflects on what he did before the war and what he would like to do after the war.
