On the reverse 'Barbara Mary, 9 Squadron Lancaster W4157 WS-V Lost on raid to Berlin 17/18 January 1943. Flown by F/S Gibson RCAF and crew., all were lost. It was named after the two nieces of the pilot of a previous crew, F/L James Cowen RNZAF'.
