Poem 1 A SONG OF HATE

Paddy is an Irish Man,
May Paddy come to grief.
Sad we wish this on him,
But his arguing is beyond belief.

Paddy is an Officer
With two rings upon his sleeve,
But the trouble we [deleted] R/T OPS [/deleted] [inserted] Girls [/inserted] have with him,
You really would not believe.
[inserted] woudn’t [sic] [/inserted]

With his hair as red as carrots,
And his stock of Irish blarney,
He thinks that he knows everything
But we all thin [inserted] k [/inserted] he’s barmy.

All through our hours of duty,
Eight, twelve or even more,
We R/T OPS have to suffer,
His arguementive [sic] roar.

Paddy likes his tea sweet,
But never was a man so sour,
If only we could heave him,
From the top of our Watch Tower.

POEM 2 A Ratty Problem

We’ve rats in the Fixer Tower,
They’ve gnawed holes in the floor,
We wake from our slumbers,
To hear “rattlings” galore.

They’ve gnawed Katy’s blanket,
And she’s got really vexed,
‘Cos there’s never no “gnawing”,
What they’ll gnaw next.

Oh Church Fenton’s signal section,
Give ear to my song,
We’ve had this “Rattalian”,
Two months too long.

So, Signal Section,
Something quick you must do,
Please get a Pied Piper -----
To lead them to you!!

[inserted] We’ve rats in the Fixer Tower
- We have To sleep on The Floor
We wake from our slumbers
To hear rattings galore
Theyve [sic] gnawed Katey [sic] Blanket
Right By her Feet
And Theres [sic] never no gnawing
What next They may eat

[deleted] Find [/deleted]
OR we’ll get a Pied Piper
To Lead Them To you [/inserted]
