Devon,
Dear Win,
Just received your letter containing a postal order, but although its very kind of you to send it, I think you have more need of it than me,
At the moment we are all on fatigues and I’m in the squadron stores, our work today has consisted of reading, sleeping, and now writing. Ive [sic] passed all the exams this time and so I shall soon be going on to the next stage.
Having just returned I’m afraid I havent [sic] much to write about. Norm carried my kit bag all the way to Paddington, and we arrived up there at 1.28 and I just caught the 1.30 boy it was a near thing, that [deleted] the [/deleted] train being the last that day.
Well thats [sic] about all I can think of so I’ll end my blather, and
[page break]
get some more sleeping hours in
Best of Luck
[underlined] Jim [/underlined]
PS I thought I was in a bad shape on returning but have just found out 15 blokes went sick this morning.
