Robert Palmer’s RAF Pilot’s Flying Log Book from 12 April 1940 to 12 May 1942 detailing his training and operations as a pilot and instructor. He was stationed at RAF Desford (No. 7 Elementary Flying Training School), RAF Grantham (No. 12 Flying Training School), RAF Harwell (No. 15 OTU), RAF Feltwell (75 Squadron), RAF Mildenhall (149 Squadron) and RAF Lossiemouth and RAF Lakenheath (No. 20 OTU). Aircraft in which flown: DH82 Tiger Moth, Anson, Wellington, Magister. Records 3 night operations with 75 Squadron, and 9 night operations with 149 Squadron on the following targets in France and Germany: Bordeaux, Boulogne, Bremen, Düsseldorf, Gelsenkirchen, Hanover, Lorient, Ludwigshafen, Mannheim and Wilhelmshaven. His first or second pilots on operations were Pilot Officer Horton and Pilot Officer Gilmore.
