Thursday,

Dear Lew,

Many thanks for your letter, repeat letter, I am extremely sorry I am unable to acknowledge any more, because of the most elementary reason, I haven't received them, lost in the post I suppose, or they weren't even posted.

I find it difficult to answer your letter because although it contained a couple of pages the whole of it could be condensed into a single line, but still I will do my best, maybe I can at least put up a better show then you.

Regards leave, I shall be commencing my usual fourteen days leave on September 10th (approx: four weeks time} and if you could possibly arrange yours to coincide I am sure we could have a most enjoyable time, providing of course that Pam will let you have your

own way occasionally.

[two indecipherable words] wrote and told me that you and Ted spent quite a few days together recently, I'll bet you had a grand time, bags of ale and politics, don't forget to give me all the gen when I see you again, incidentally I believe Ted has a couple of evacuees, are they any good?

Nothing more,
See you soon,
Cheers,
Ant.
