Dear mum & dad,
Just a few lines to let you know I'm still O.K. and looking after myself.
I'm afraid I shan't be seeing you again this Xmas, there doesn't seem any chance at all of getting off so I'll have to do without my Xmas.
There'll be lots doing here but if I can get the afternoon off I'm going over to Bardney for dinner to the Scott's.
I suppose you've had the same sort of shocking weather as we've had lately; it's been foggy for days now. Last night we were out doing a spot of work in the Baltic, you'll have heard the news by now I suppose.
[page break]
2.
That makes our sixth trip towards our twenty so we're coming along slowly.
I'm hoping to be home during January for my leave but as usual it's impossible to say when.
Thanks for your card it arrived this morning, so far I've had yours and Vera's, one from Albert, one from Derby, and a letter from Aunt Glad.
Vera's had the job of sending cards this year though I've sent about a dozen myself to various Air Force types etc.
Well mum and dad I'll have to close now so take care of yourselves and have a Happy Xmas and David too.
Cheerio for now
Your Loving Son Ken. [kisses]
