[inserted] The bale out was occasioned by mid air collision with a Wellington – night time and poor visibility. Stirling carried 5 x 2000 lb land mines Wellington 5000 lbs incendiaries. Wellington crew all killed. Stirling crew all baled out and landed without significant injury.
