Dear Sir,
We thank you for your letter of 4th November, and have been very interested to read of your experience when you baled out over France on the night of 26/27th November, 1944.
We certainly have not had another case such as this reported to us where one of our “Woodbine” cigarettes has established the nationality of a person, and we have read your remarks with very great pleasure.
We appreciate your taking the trouble to write to us on the matter as we are always most interested to hear from smokers of our brands, and under separate cover we are sending to you a 100’s box of “Woodbine” cigarettes which we would ask you to accept with our very best wishes.
Yours faithfully,
W.D. & H.O. Wills.
