Dear [deleted] Sir/ [/deleted] Madam,
I have your request for the log book of the late Flying Officer Evans but have to inform you that our instructions from the Air Ministry are that this should be forwarded to his widow if the latter should ask for it.
In the circumstances I regret that I cannot send it to you unless you can supply me with the consent in writing of the above mentioned person.
On receipt of such consent the log book will be forwarded to you as soon as possible.
