Dear Sis.

Very many thanks for your two letters duly received, sorry Im a little late in answering them, but have been very very busy lately as no doubt you know.

Im glad you enjoyed yourselves so at the party. I think there is going to be another one at Xmas, so you should all have a jolly time.

As yet, I haven't fixed anything up about Xmas, but Euny will definitely

be coming, I believe she wants to come up to Croydon on Xmas eve & come down by train with you & Peg on Xmas day.

But about all those questions of clothes etc., I should get everything you think you might need but dont panic 'cos I shall be on leave sometime before Xmas, and can fix everything up then.

If you can both come up on Xmas eve all the better but Im rather afraid Euny will be working up to 6pm Xmas eve

Well Lynne, Bill's decided at this juncture to tear off to a local dance and I've jumped at the opportunity of finishing this epistle for him for I've been meaning to write to you for many moons.

Thanks for your letters and for [deleted] reporting [/deleted] returning the coupons so promptly. I'm truly glad you found them so useful – I ought really to tear you off a strip for being so apologetic about writing for you might know that I was indeed glad to hear from you.

Bee-ill seems to think that its pretty certain that you'll be coming here again at Christmas. I'm hoping so anyhow for I feel sure that you haven't seen all the grounds yet! Incidentally I wonder if that's what they mean when folks talk [deleted] again [/deleted] about “grounds”

for divorce!

I really must apologise for my lousy scribble and for the frequent crossings out. The truth is however that after our strenuous efforts of the last few days I'm just about on my knees. I don't know where your bruvver's summoned the energy from to go a-dancing although of course I could shoot a line and say that I do all the work! By the way you might tell Peg that Jimmy's looking a bit pale and wan these days – I think he must be pining for her.

Guess that's about all for now – its time I crept into the arms of Morpheus (or some other dame!) Dont forget to swot up some more posh poetry to recite when we meet again.

Roll on that day
All the best
Les.
