Dear Sis,
I know this letter is terribly overdue, but I have been in a real flat spin just lately so I hope you will excuse me. Am enclosing the cheque for £3-0-0 as promised. Mum tells me you are going away on the 9th so dont [sic] suppose you will get it until you come back. Still better late than never & I know you are not really waiting for it.
Expect you have heard how I was recalled from leave, whilst on holiday at Torquay, aint it a bind, we were having such a grand time too, just discovered a place called Babbacombe Bay a really lovely spot, with hardly any

people about, and ideal for swimming then just as we find it, back I have to go.
Has Euny written to you yet, and told you about her new job - she is with Babs now and likes it much better, the hours are a lot shorter and she is really feeling fit.
The bonus was grand dont [sic] you think, certainly gives me a pull up O.K. Have you heard from Stan lately dear, I do hope so hope he’ll soon be back again too Boy oh boy will that be cause for celebration. You did tell me the name of the camp he was in, but I’ve forgotten it, can you let me have it again, next time you write
Will say cheerio for now hope you have a good holiday
lots of love
