Covers biography of Bill Thorn early life and taking a short service commission in the Royal Air Force in September 1922 and learning to fly and posting to 17 Squadron at RAF Hawkinge.= and eventually to the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Farnborough where he started testing. Relates his flying activities in the 1930s. He started working at A V Roe in 1933. Continues with testing activities on Anson, Manchester, Lancaster, York, Lincoln, Lancastrian and Tudor. Concludes with crash of Tudor in which he and Roy Chadwick were killed.
