Ref. 27053

Mr. J. F. Nolan
c/o Inspector-in-Charge, A.I.D.,
Liverpool District

Date 1st June 1942

You are moved for training in the first instance to the A.I.D. Training School, Brandon Steep, Bristol, and thereafter to other Schools or Units, as may be necessary.

The period of training will be for three calendar months and, during this period, you may be entitled to a special allowance of 25/0d. per week in accordance with A.I.D. Weekly Standing Order No. 34/40, Para. ii, dated 8th March, 1940.

Provided you satisfactorily pass the training, you will be eligible for upgrading to Examiner at any A.I.D. Unit or Station, provided a vacancy in that grade exists. This Unit or Station will be regarded as your normal permanent station at which you are expected to establish your home. No allowances will be admissible whilst you remain at that Unit or Station.

It should be remembered that in the case of married men, or single men with equivalent responsibilities, payment of allowance after the first month of temporary attachment away from the normal permanent station is conditional upon a home having been set up at the normal permanent station.

You are to report to the Inspector-in-Charge, A.I.D. Training School, Brandon Steep, Bristol, not later than 9 a.m. on Tuesday 9th June 1942 when your school period of training will commence.

Before proceeding on training you will be required to sign and hand the attached statement in duplicate to your Inspector-in-Charge, for transmission to this Headquarters.
