Dear Mrs Wright & Doris
It was extremely kind & thoughtful of you to send the paper on. Naturally we read it with great interest. I re echo your remarks of these lads sacrifice so that we may live but I have so many times remarked in conversations “If they could only see” what we are experiencing. I have at last received news of Montys[sic] final resting place so am enclosing the Air Ministry letter so that you can note particulars. I am looking forward to the day when I shall be able to pay a visit.
I have his oil painting in the dining room showing his dear smile from whatever angle I look. I do miss him so much that I have lost all interest in what was our one sport of fishing. I only wanted him as company. His sisters are all very well. The eldest Lilian has one big son aged 5 and Olive has two - one daughter
[page break]
aged 4 & one son aged 1. Dorothy is still at home with me. I am pleased to say I am keeping fairly fit and still take an interest in gardening.
I feel as you must do how time flies. Fancy Christmas so near again.
We all send our best wishes to you all.
Yours sincerely
