Dear Mrs Wareing,
Your letter dated 17th January, 1945 is acknowledged and the Registration Book of your husband’s car is returned herewith.
I regret to inform you that we are not entitled to issue petrol coupons unless a car is here at the Station. In that case we may give an authorised person a sufficient number to make him or her to remove the car.
May I suggest that you contact your local Petroleum Board and make an application to supply you with sufficient coupons to do what you need.
We are all very glad indeed to hear the good news of your husband.
