Dear Mum,
We’ve been flying every day or night or both since I wrote last so there’s not very much to write about.
I received you [sic] two cakes yesterday though. They are both really splendid. Thanks ever so much Mum dear. I had an awful job deciphering your letter – it was oily & completely transparent – the writing on the back just as clear as on the front but I managed it. Had a parcel from Betty a couple of days before also. The best thing in it was 1/2 lb. of plain milk chocolate & a pound of tea.
We landed at a different drome on one of our cross-countries the other night & met a couple of the chaps we did O.T.U. with who also landed there – Bert Howard was one of them.
Have only 2 trips to finish our course here & if we can do them in the next 3 nights we stand a good chance of getting about a week’s leave before going onto Lancs. Rod Brownlee is just finishing his O.T.U. & expects a weeks leave at the same time so we hope for a reunion.
Cheerio for to-day Mum.
Love to all at Home. Bert XXXX
