I am directed to inform you that a War Gratuity is payable in respect of the Royal Air Force service of the above-named [deleted] officer [/deleted]/airman, and to enclose a form of application for payment which should be completed and returned in the reply paid envelope.
If Probate or Letters of Administration were obtained in connection with the Estate, the Grant should, if possible, be forwarded for inspection with your application.
If a Grant of Representation was not obtained and the Service Estate was shared with others, their names and present addresses should be furnished.

Should a Will have come to light after settlement of the Service Estate, it should also be forwarded if Probate was not obtained.
