Dear Mr Baker,
I have great pleasure in informing you that we have received information from the International Red Cross Society stating that your son, Pilot Officer D. A. Baker is a prisoner of war. One other member of his crew is also a prisoner, and two were unfortunately killed.
We have no news as to which prison camp they are in, but no doubt you will be receiving communications from them in the near future.
Everyone here is delighted about the news of your son’s safety.
