I have to refer with regret to the death of your son on the 4th April, 1943, and to inform you that as his Royal Air Force pay ceased on the day of death, the voluntary allotment of which you have been in receipt, has been substituted by a temporary allowance of equal amount, to which you are entitled under the regulations.

This allowance will be continued until the 8th July, 1943, (i.e. the last order which may be cashed is due on the 1st July, 1943). A renewal order book will be handed you after you have cashed the last order in your present book.

It should be added that this allowance is not a pension. If you wish to enquire regarding a pension, application should be made to the Regional Office of the Ministry of Pensions.
