Lost! afar in distant lands,
Where death extends her ever reaching hands,
To grasp the youth, lifeblood from race,
Who day by day meet evil face to face.
Lost! we who are left to bear,
The lonely years midst memories & care,
And count the hours till peace again resolved,
To heal the hurtful wounds within our souls.
Lost! in a future soon revealed
As a world of love & pardon yet concealed
Striking out the past in one swift blow
Tis then we’ll find the light, God deemed it so.
